The Georgia Poetry Society holds two chapbook contests, which run in alternate years, in the fall. Only one winner is chosen each year, and the winning submission is published in the following spring.
The Charles Dickson Chapbook Contest, held in odd-numbered years, is named in memory of Dickson, an internationally respected poet of the haiku. It was started with a grant from the estate of John K. and Mary H. Ottley and a gift from Dickson’s wife, Virginia.
In 2020, the Ron Self Chapbook Contest was set up with donations made in memory of Self, former GPS president and two-time winner of the Dickson chapbook contest.
Below is a selection of winning chapbooks available for purchase direct from GPS.
We only hold selected volumes in stock and in modest quantities. If you cannot find what you are looking for below, would like to order a larger quantity, or are seeking to order for shipment outside the USA, please be aware that many of our publications are available through Amazon.com.
