The first Ron Self Chapbook Contest (2020) winner, Trish Percival, writes “with language that is creative yet natural, never forced, with vivid imagery” (James Green, contest judge). “What a delight Trish Percival’s poems are … she’s got fire, she’s got wit … she’s got poems that pass the envy test—other poets will wish they’d written them” (Nick Norwood). Percival balances poems that are sad with others that are more humorous, exploring “loneliness and moments of overcoming it.”
